I loved photographing Ivy in her light-filled home in Paulus Hook and then down by the waterfront. I cannot get enough of her big blue eyes! A big thank you to MilkSugarLove for one of her incredible buttercream rose cakes in pink. Love! Happy 1st birthday Ivy!
I was lucky enough to have twins Peter & Michael in the studio on their actual 1st birthday! Peter has these rich brown eyes and was full of hilarious expressions and Michael has these amazing blue/green eyes and this sweet thoughtfulness about him. Individually they could be little baby models, but the two of them together was just over-the-top cuteness.
One of the most amazing things I get to experience is watching all “my” babies grow up. Ethan was one of the first newborns I photographed in this studio and here he is a year later at his 1st birthday shoot!
Ethan you are too cute for words!! Even with all your adorable giggles and smiles, my favorite shot has to be the face you make when mom is stealing a bite of your cake. Priceless.
This 1st birthday shoot for Poppy (short for Penelope…so sweet!) combined so many of my favorite things – adorable girly cuteness, a smash cake from Sophie Sophia and the view of the NY skyline from Morris Canal Park. And the skyline was extra special this time since Dad’s Manhattan office building peeking out at us. Most of all, I loved that there were just so many aww moments of Poppy simply being her sweet, happy and adorable self. Happy 1st Birthday Poppy!
The greatest part of photographing Norah was working with mom Ling to create a very personal photo album of the session to commemorate Norah’s 1st birthday. In it, she included notes about Norah’s babyhood and a personal letter from mom & dad to read when she grows up. One of my favorite tidbits in the album… Norah’s middle name Yeates is after her mom’s mentor Elizabeth Jane Yeates who “was a small town girl that went to U Penn and MIT and went on to dedicate her life to helping young men and women reach their dreams….with grace, determination, thoughtfulness and kindness.”
What an amazing love letter for Norah to cherish all her life. Happy 1st birthday Norah!
In honor of Thor turning the big 2-point-0, we had a little photo shoot that took us from the studio to Hamilton Park. Mom and dad are also a couple of our best friends so it’s always a special treat to photograph that sweet face! (Seriously, I love his baby portraits so much, they have graced everything from the entrance to our studio to our note cards.) I can’t believe he’s already such a big boy! Love watching this sweet kid grow up in front of my lens. Happy 2nd Birthday Thor!!!
This photograph of Akshay & Asha has to be one of my favorite images of all time. At 7-months, they were just barely steady enough to sit up on their own – all the more reason to lean on each other. Cuteness overload! <3 <3
Asha was so tuckered out by the end of the shoot, he literally could not keep his eyes open…which made for the cutest pic. 🙂
