modern photography for baby & child

Sunday was the perfect day for a photo shoot in Hamilton Park with cousins Emily (9), William (6), Evelyn (5) and Olivia (3). Moms (and sis-in-laws) Virginia and Mia arranged for this shoot to have the pics back just in time for Grandpa’s 70th Birthday party on Father’s Day, and I felt so honored to be able to take the kids’ photographs for such a big occasion!
The kids were all smiley and in great moods which always makes it fun. I, of course, was….a little animated…trying to get those smiles to all happen at the same time. Lucky for me, the park was full of people since it was such a lovely day out. Whatever it takes to get the shot, right? Because seriously, how adorable are these four??

When twin girls Stella and Juliana arrived last October, I was beyond excited for mom Kristy and dad Dave. If anyone should procreate, it’s those two. Dave is honestly one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and Kristy is one of my favorite people of all time. She’s hilarious and doesn’t take herself too seriously – one of those friends who can say “honestly what the h*ll are you wearing??” and for whatever reason it makes you love her more. Check out her inspiring birth story which was featured on Hoboken Mommies last month.

Now that Summer is nearly upon us, it has been so fun to take advantage of the nice weather and do more shoots outdoors. For Olivia (5) and Maya’s (1) shoot, I couldn’t wait to head back to Morris Canal since not only is the Manhattan skyline gorgeous, but the kids have so much fun playing in the grass there, not to mention climbing trees. Mom, Liz, is a great friend and incredible artist – painting, graphic design, writing, you name it – and it has definitely been passed down to Olivia. I know this because she’s in the same Pre-K class as my oldest, and she has all these paintings that look like Picasso’s. And not in the same way I would say my kid’s paintings look like Picasso’s (because aren’t our own kids always complete geniuses??), but I mean she literally has this amazing grasp of color for her age.
